From Factory to Customer: How to Source and Ship Products the Smart Way

I chose bananas, ice cream, deli meat to explore.
To properly transport bananas, you would need a truck with crates to keep them fresh. Bananas spoil easily so I wouldn’t be surprised if their transportation is from local trucking companies. There’s also different types of bananas with the exotic ones being imported from other countries. Imports from other countries may require a boat to get them across the country as well as trucks. To properly transport ice cream, you would need a truck with a built-in freezer to keep the ice cream from melting. Ice cream is a bit trickier to keep fresh than other supermarkets because it’s not a product you keep on the shelf. Deli meat is more than likely cured but it still needs to chilled to remain fresh. They also keep the deli meat in a big sealed package before it is prepared to the customer’s liking in-store. This product would need a truck with built-in refrigeration to keep it fresh. If it comes from a farm, the truck should suffice as it’s a popular way to transport produce. I think the best way to find out how to transport each product is to find out where is the product going, is it a shelf product or chilled product, and is there any safety risks?
